XIV. AN ADIEU.

Good night, sweet Sorrow,
Until to-morrow,
And then we shall dwell together again;
I've known thee long,
Like a mournful song,
Till thou'st grown a part
Of my innermost heart,
And a nestling bird on my pillow of pain.
Sweet little Sorrow,
Come back to-morrow,
I've learned to love thee—remain, remain!
